Short and snappy this week, OULTC had two loss‘s.
Firstly M2 was closely defeated 2-4 by Oxford Brookes in their home match this week. A special shoutout goes to Jafar for a big singles win against an opponent who was being very difficult opponent on court, nonetheless Jafar demonstrated level headedness and good sportsmanship, the personification of what we look for in our OULTC players!
M3 came up against some very strong opponents this week in the form of Nottingham’s 5’s in their away match. Sadly they were defeated 12-0, but a valient effort was made by the whole team. David Heathcote and Matt had a very close three setter doubles match just being pipped at the post in the championship tiebreak where they lost 4-6, 6-1, 10-6. Tragedy struck when the team didn’t make it back in time for the annual OULTC Christmas dinner but luckily not all was lost as the they managed to stop off at David’s house on the way back to Oxford to refuel with lasagne and cake!
PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Going straight to Jafar this week who deserves an extra commendation for the fact that this is was his last match playing for OULTC as he’s only in Oxford for this term. We’d like to thank him for being an excellent player and teammate for everyone on M2.
The M3 boys enjoying their Christmas dinner substitute kindly provided by captain David Heathcote’s household!
