This was a triumphant week for OULTC - our players took a clean sweep of four wins and NO losses!
M3 beat Coventry 2’s 5-1 in their away match this week and M4 also gave a strong performance to gain victory over Oxford Brookes 4-2 in their away match.
This was a very exciting week for the Blues. The womens side gave some exceptional performances in the first round of the Women‘s championships where they came up against Leeds Beckett (a strong National league team) and managed to crush them 5-1! This was especially exciting as Oxford haven’t won a Women’s Championships match in recent years. A spectacular effort was given by the whole team. Both doubles were closely fought resulting in one win and one loss. Charlotte Feldhoff and Mary Strevens didn’t go down without a fight though taking the tiebreak 3rd set all the way to 12-10. Eloise, Mary and Charlotte all had absolute battles in their singles with Eloise and Charlotte both winning in tiebreaks at the end!
M1 and W1 also had their annual “Old Blues“ match at the White Horse this week followed by a lovely reunion dinner at Vinnies. The teams played a combination mens, women’s and mixed doubles - our current teams managed to keep the upper hand against the OULTC‘s alumni, ending the day with a final score to 13-6.
