Sadly this week was not our best as our teams struggled against some strong competition. OULTC managed just a single win, two draws and four losses!
The win came from M4 who played Lincoln 2s away and beat them 8-4, despite only having three players! W1 drew 6-6 against Bath 2s (check the pictures below to see them recreating this result!) This included Mary Strevens battling through the longest ever first set to win her singles 7-6 6-2! The other draw came from W3 who drew 6-6 against De Montfort 1s away, including a stunning win from Francesca Rowson who won her singles match 6-0 6-0.
M1 played Nottingham 2s away and lost 2-4. However there was some superb play from Roman Kenny-manning who won both of his matches this week. W2 played Birmingham away and lost 4-8. Again there were some hard fought matches: Innes and Alex won their doubles in the third set tiebreaker 5-7, 7-5, 14-12 and Fenella Gross also won her singles in three sets. M3 played at home against Nottingham 5s and lost 2-10. Credit to Leonhard and Daniel Heathcote who put in a great doubles performance to make sure M3 didn't lose every rubber! Finally, M2 lost 0-12 against Cambridge but in reality it wasn't as bad as the score sounds as half the matches went to a championship tiebreaker. Casper played particularly well, only just losing his singles against the former Blues captain and his doubles with Luke was equally close fought. Let's hope they got some good practice in for Varsity!

Andrew Unsworth from M5 who on his debut for M4 won his match without dropping a single game!
