OULTC had a bit of a mixed bag this week. We had one win, one draw and three losses.
Our win came from the M3‘s who were playing Coventry 2’s at home and after a tough day of matches managed to secure an indisputable 5-1 victory.
Onto the draw which was the result of our W4’s home match against Worcester 1’s. And finally our losses were in the form M1 who after a tough fight against Cambridge just got pipped at the post 4-2. Better luck for Varsity - this was just a warm up to assess the competition! M4 lost against Nottingham 5‘s 5-1, which always going to be a very tough match against a university with such a strong team.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Goes to W4’s very own Alicia Middleton who showed sheer determination and grit through her singles performance where she lost the first set in a tight tie-break but fought back to win the second set in spectacular style not dropping a game (6-0) then went onto win her championship tiebreak deciding third set - a particularly impressive feat given the last tie-breaker had gone to her opponent! Well done Alicia!
